Melanie Lyn McGuire (nee Slate) was
born in 1972 in Ridgewood, NJ. She
has lived in New Jersey all her
life. Melanie graduated from
Middletown High School South in 1990
in the top 5 % of her class as a
member of both the National Honor
Society and the Spanish National
Honor Society. She obtained a
baccalaureate degree from Rutgers
College, Rutgers University in 1994,
with concentrations in statistics
and psychology. In pursuit of her
dream to help people, Melanie
obtained her nursing diploma from
the Charles E. Gregory School of
Nursing in 1997, graduating second
in her class.
As a nursing student, Melanie became
interested in the OB/GYN field,
specifically, the field of
infertility. As a professional nurse
coordinator for two of the largest
infertility programs on the East
Coast, Melanie has functioned as
coordinator/recruiter for all
different forms of third party
reproduction, including ovum
donation, and most notably,
gestational surrogacy. Melanie’s
compassionate yet direct, approach
to patient care is still known
throughout the gestational surrogacy
community, and she has even been
termed, “the mother whisperer” by
patients. She was and continues to
be respected professionally and
personally by patients and
colleagues around the nation and the
world.
Melanie’s greatest love of all
continues to be her family,
especially her two young sons.
